Carbone holiday..............

Carbon school holiday started in Sweden during the 1900s, to save on heating costs, especially in large cities such as Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmoe.

And this in the month of February, which was coldest in the period. The children had to stay home from school.

During the 40-50's, the holiday still being a part of saving energy, but the government realized that the children's health became better when were out in the fresh air.







Now began the holiday spread to other parts of our country, but still not to the countryside and farmers. For it was felt that the children had enough fresh air.

Today 2012, the winter holidays many of the families part of leisure.
